Overview: Has the rush to gold started? Yes, but barely, because only recently have we seen a nation admit they are moving into gold. China and of course the gold bugs have been buying since the recent bottom in 2000, but this pales in what this writer sees ahead; now that the structure is failing, more and more nations, institutions, and individuals will be heading to the bottom for safety and liquidity (gold).

I'm hoping David that the deflationary pressures will persist for another 6 months so I can get maximum money invested in silver and then just wait for the sthtf. If we're all wrong except the "main stream experts," then silver will still skyrocket because of it's myriad utilitarian uses. If we're right, we're all silver millionaires.

Sometimes I feel that gold is just a smokescreen to keep the attention and money away from silver. Sorry if I sound like an old silver bug but after all, I am.

That is a fair assessment considering that mainstream advertisement of gold has skyrocketed over the past two years or so. Many friends and family members know about my silver investment, so they tend to ask me questions about gold. I don't hold anywhere near as much gold as I do silver and I always tell them that silver is the way to go unless you're loaded with cash and can easily afford gold. Since all they hear about via the media is gold, of course that has to be the way to go no questions asked

I won't bash gold but I will say that like the cover that was pulled off the economy as a whole that let everyone see how worthless it was, the cover will come off of gold to reveal how truly valuable silver is. I hear a lot of advertising about gold but little about silver unless it is gold AND silver but never silver alone.
