Post Munich Musings

Subject:Munich Musings
By: David Bond, The Wallace Street Journal

Overview: Munich – OlympiaPark, built for the 1972 Summer Olympics here in Munchen, looks a little tired and dog-eared these days, not a lot different from the state of the gold and silver markets – equities and physicals. But scratch beneath the pallid paint and weather-stained concrete a tad, as we did at Frank and Jan's excellent adventure, the just-concluded 2008 Edelmetall & Rohstoffmesse precious metals and resource show, and all hell is breaking loose.

Default Black Market? What Black Market?

It is very disappointing to me to see that people who suppose to understand something about economics do not know the difference between a black market and a grey/gray market. How can you possibly expect people to respect your comments, Mr. David Bond and Mr. Sean Rakhimov? Please educate yourself at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_market.

Default Brilliant!!!

That's it?
First and only post and you use it to complain about the definition of a supposed misused term?
AND you missed the entire point of the article.
Quite Impressive Mr Grammar,
JesterJay
If you don't get this, sorry.

I think much of the article was tongue in cheek, if not sardonic or sarcastic at points. The term "black market" meant that us peasants arent supposed to decide for ourselves what money is. We are to do what we are told and volunteer for soylent green as need arises.

Interesting article though, especially after the last "insider" was talking down silver out of one side of his mouth (but not both).

Gives me some optimism.

Natürlich habe ich Sinn des Artikels verstanden. - Oh, sorry I have to write in English. First, of course I got the message of the article. Not to mention. Second, since you and probably a lot of other citizens in your country don’t very much care about what is legal or illegal, respectively Grey/Black Market, I am not surprised that the US is in such a political and economical mess. Third, this is not the intellectual level I was looking for. Thanks for your comment. I quit this forum.

Default Um, guilty?

Read my original answer again, please. It is obvious (or perhaps oblivious) to me that it was offered with a slant toward humor.
Prahudka got it. Lots of literary license used in that article.
And I just didn't like the way it was presented. So high and mighty and all. Still, I was jabbing at him a bit. He seems to take himself ("this is not the intellectual level I was looking for. Thanks for your comment. I quit this forum") quite a bit TOO seriously. Typing in a second language just to be impressive. Don't misread me, I respect and admire anyone who is multilingual and I LOVE to hear different accents spoken. Then he quits, by anouncing it, after 2 posts? Gee, that was a great move. It is all posturing and pompousness.
I smelled a Nadlerian presence. I think I was proven right.
Or could be that I have been a bit grumpy lately. My ear is bugging me again, and the weather is cloudy, dog ate my newspaper, and my favorite NFL team sucks this year. I am a bit of a mishugenah at the moment, I am afraid to say.
