The following items listed are potentially on sale items. Some are long term sale prices for the most part, while others are quick hit and miss sales.

The premium price listed for 90% coins represents the amount over the spot price of Silver per ounce in your total purchase, not per Dollar face value. 90% Silver does not represent 90% of an ounce of Silver per Dollar face value, it only represent the total percentage of Silver content in these coins, while the actual content of silver is estimated to be .715 ounces of Silver per Dollar face value. So for example if someone was listing their 90% at $1 over spot, you would actually be paying 71.5 per Dollar face value ($1 x .715 = 71.5). You may often hear people talk about the face value being $14.50 or $17.00 per Dollar face value, but that is not how it is listed or sold in terms of the premium listed and paid. The logic is so you can always compare the price per ounce of Silver in all products you are buying. Apples and Apples not Apples and Oranges that you would be forced to calculate the difference yourself.

All posted premiums will represent the price over spot per ounce.

All Wal-Mart is doing is posting the entire stock listing for APMEX on their web page and taking a small percentage for the direct sale from APMEX just like they list probably thousands of other items that are direct shipments from all kinds of dealers selling any and everything.

One thing is for certain, Wal-Mart list far more items for sale by other vendors than they do for themselves.

And APMEX has a separate page for every item with it's own special price listing just for Wal-Mart customers.

I do think it's funny that the prices are so far out of whack with reality and I wouldn't expect it to be from any other large dealer than APMEX themselves.

What a place to bottom fish to find people that have no idea which side is up for buying Silver and Gold than the customers at Wal-Mart, they have no pride in who or how they screw anyone.

Did you look at that price for a tube of ASE's with a premium of $5.50 each, that's fake retail Silver shortage premium screwing by APMEX.

Not to mention wanting $4.25 premium for a face Dollar of 90% coins which can be had for under a Dollar premium at multiple dealers.

And they don't even have the common courtesy to offer that Dollars worth of coins in a 10 black velvet bag for that $4.25 in premium.

Now I know where you are getting your ideas from, trying to out do APMEX at Wal-Mart.

Question Perhaps they'll add some coins to their jewlery counter displays.

Maybe it's just APMEX/Wal-Mart pre positioning for next year's market?
I'm sure that there is a good reason for the excessively large markups.
Perhaps it's a ploy to convince customers to deal with APMEX.

Nope I checked, APMEX is the only dealer listed for Silver and they do not carry any at the stores. They have 1,000 items listed on 25 pages at Wal-Mart.

No competition means no competition and they don't have to offer any realistic prices at all for those that don't know any better.

The only thing APMEX is prepositioning themselves for is another way to fleece someone that doesn't know any better.

I don't have any experience with any other dealers that know how to take advantage of any situation better than APMEX.

They are everywhere and you can actually find them selling their products for competitive prices in some markets like Ebay.

But hey are honest and they ship fast, well I'm not exactly sure about the honest part anymore as I'm testing a one half ounce Silver round from Australia I bought from them back in 2014 and I was looking through my sample bags and what did I find from APMEX but five other rounds from them that all have serious toning problems like I've never seen before at the edge near the flip folder and one 1/10 once round from GSM that came in a small zip bag that has turned almost cooper looking and I thought that was the culprit at first.

But with the 1/2 once round that is still in perfect condition and no toning at all I kind of changed my mind on suspecting the GSM 1/10 ounce round.

I put that perfect Australian round in with one of the 1/2 ounce round back to back in the same flip folder to see if touching it in a confined space would accelerate this toning process or whatever it's doing last Friday and it's already done more damage to that round in just five days that it did in three years being in a different flip folder.

It will be interesting to find out what kind of metal can do this to a Silver coin and if APMEX will make this right after 3 years.

It's not a big issue as they can all be sold for scrap for just a few dollar less than what they would fetch in total if good.

But still interesting to see how APMEX will handle this as I have the document for all the coins they shipped me back then for this order.

I've only had a couple minor issues with dealers over the years and they took care of them right away, but not with APMEX and not something that happened three years ago.

It's one thing to complain about a short shipment or the wrong item received, but a fake item in your shipment that ruined several other items.

Well it might not be the Australian round that is fake and ruining the other products, maybe they are all fake and the only that is not is the one still standing.

Wouldn't that be a hoot since all the other rounds are stamped APMEX.

It's amazing what it did to that GSM round in the bag with less protection and yet it doesn't show any of the dark toning on the edges like the other rounds do that were exposed to the air at the flip folder opening.

But it has turned the entire round a slight shade in the cooper direction, but that might be from no direct air exposure.

I wondering if that round wasn't scrap metal dug up from that nuclear dump fire in your backyard and I've been exposed to it for three years now.

Who knows, you might not be the only one that glows in the dark if I don't get rid of this thing.

The funny part is I never buy products from anyone that doesn't sell new minted produced items themselves to avoid buying anything that could ever be a fake and yet I have a real winner.

    Maybe it's the flip.

That was my first thought but nothing happened to the Australian round in an APMEX flip round holder and that wouldn't explain what happened to the GSM round in a small storage bag. I talked with GSM yesterday and he said he has never heard of a fake round causing damage to other products. His theory, it had to be the mailer the rounds were setting in for the past three years. Still doesn't explain why the Australian round was the only one not impacted by this when everything else was. There was one other one ounce bar with them that was OK but that was in its plastic sealed envelope they come in. He said they had some kind of polluting crap in the air down in Florida this summer that turned their Silver a pink shade coming right out of the machine and they had to shut down operation for three days until the air cleared.

After thinking about it, he probably wasn't the best person to ask as they don't deal with second hand coins other than melting someone's bars and producing more rounds for someone. I just thought maybe he might have run across something like this before. I guess if anyone would be a potential pro dealing with fakes it would be a dealer, maybe...
