And the slow shipping pace is getting even slowerrrrr, so much for salvaging another weak month after that nice three day total on Monday.

One thing about the US Mint shipments, they are like shipments leaving the COMEX, no one knows where they are going or who bought them.

We can be sure they will not be back on the market to fill orders like on the COMEX.

The US Mint doesn't ship used ASE's and it's not likely any one is going to melt them down into 1,000 ounce bars, not even JP Morgan.............

I added this information on another thread and thought is should be added here as it applies to this thread more than any other.

To put things in perspective when it comes to Shipments from the US Mint:

There are on average 21 shipping days per month

To reach the same level shipped last year of 37,701,500, they need to ship on average, 149,500 ASE's per day and 3,142,000 each month

To reach the same level shipped in 2015 of 47,000,000, they need to ship on average, 186,500 ASE's per day and 3,917,000 each month

To set a new record for 2017 of 48,000,000, they need to ship on average, 190,500 ASE's per day and 4,000,000 each month

Each year they start off with a bonus month of January as it's the largest shipping month of the year

Likewise they end up with a short month in December, which is always well short of the average monthly shipping quantity, but not always the lowest monthly total.

As of Monday, March 27th, the US Mint has shipped 1,320,000 ASE's for the month of March and 7,662,500 YTD.

That was only 25,000 shipped over the past three days and 105,000 in total over the past week versus the daily average of 149,500 needed to keep up with last years figures.

There are still four day's left in this month but it's shaping up to be another dismal month for the US Mint.

As of Thursday, March 30th, the US Mint has shipped 1,615,000 ASE's for the month of March and 7,957,500 YTD.

295,000 over the past three day's is a step in the right direction, Monday starts a new month and hopefully higher spot prices to boost ASE sales and a few smiles.

No additional shipments were reported on the last day of the month so the US Mint ended the month of March with 1,615,000 shipped and 7,957,500 YTD

Comparing 2017 YTD actual shipments to the monthly averages for 2016 and 2015

    2017 YTD 7,957,500

    2016 YTD 9,425,375

    2015 YTD 11,750,000

These figures are no indication of where they might be by year end, just where they stand up to this point in time.

As of Monday April 10th, the US Mint has shipped 330,000 ASE's for the month of April and 8,287,500 YTD.

Last Monday was a decent two day total of 255,000 but 75,000 shipped over the past five day's, well it's not looking much better this month than last and maybe worse if orders don't pick up.

But we never know when a 700,000 ounce order is going roll through the Mint going somewhere fast.

As of Tuesday April 11th, the US Mint has shipped 380,000 ASE's for the month of April and 8,337,500 YTD.

Another 50,000 shipping day, much better than the past 15,000 day average for the last week, yet still well below the needed 149,500 daily average needed to maintain last years level.

If this is any indication of what sales are like for generic Silver, the dealers must really be hurting for monthly mortgage payments.

Couldn't have anything to do with premiums at the lowest levels we've seen in decades could it???

I mean I always thought I was bought Silver at the best premiums available for 100 ounce bars at 25 cents an ounce until recently seeing those same Engelhard bars selling for even lower premiums.

But then I was buying them from my local dealer, maybe there were some online deals that were better nearly 20 years ago

As of Thursday April 20th, the US Mint has shipped 600,000 ASE's for the month of April and 8,557,500 YTD.

That was 220,000 ASE's shipped over the past six shipping day's versus the average from last year of 897,000 for the same number of day's.

With Golden State Mint selling 2017 ASE's at $2.49 over spot for any quantity, even they seem to be hurting for business. Bad for them, good for us.

As of Monday April 24th, the US Mint has shipped 835,000 ASE's for the month of April and 8,792,500 YTD.

235,000 ounce over the past two shipping day's is a step in the right direction, but still short of the daily average for two day's of 299,000.

With only four shipping day's left in April, this looks to be another very weak month when the amount shipped should be on average 3,141,500.

The US Mint closed the month without adding any additional shipments to the April numbers. As of Monday morning they were showing a little over 200K being shipped on the First, however by the end of the day they correct that figure and changed it to 530K. I don't know if they were intentionally holding that 200K over to jump start May numbers or if dealers had them shipping on the first for their own reasons. It appears that with the big dip in Silver's price today, some large orders were put through in a hurry adding an addition 300K that wasn't expected.

The bottom line, April closed the month with only 835,000 ASE'S shipped for the month and 8,792,500 YTD

Which leaves 2017 shipments 3,773,500 behind last years average for the first four months.
