Something happened and one of these dealers decided to increase his ASE premiums on Friday and so did just about everyone else. Not a huge increase, at least not to start and only for ASE's.
Provident - APMEX - Gainesville all increased their ASE premiums by 30 cents.
As a reminder, you can now buy a 500 count box of generic rounds for $1,000 less than a box of ASE and a one ounce round from $2.50 - $3.00 less than a single ASE. Something to think about, especially for those buying smaller quantities.
Andy Hoffman keeps suggesting the world is coming to an end on a daily basis and pitching his dealership so I went out there to see how it works. Not a pleasant experience at all unless you need to talk to a salesman to place an order.
There was this sign up process that didn't allow me access to the online ordering system and it did allow me to actually log in after a day or so when my application was approved!! However it did not provide any method of logging out, so I was forced to contact a live person who I was trying to avoid as many will as well so that was my intent. I was told they are just getting up to speed with an actual online ordering system and they haven't yet fixed the option to log off their system but expected that to be fixed in a few days. As far as actually being able to place an online order, he said it might take a couple more weeks. The log out function did appear after several days and a few weeks later the online orders function looks like it is actually working, however I haven't tried it with them and won't be ordering anything from this dealer myself. There is mention of a sales contract with them and I asked what that was all about and I was told as a new customer I would have a $5,000 limit on first time orders. He didn't say there would be any exceptions to that limit if I was to place a phone call into a sales person, but that was the limit for an online order(approximately 200- 250 ounces of Silver). I've seen other online dealers that place limits on their customer, I just have never dealt with any. I have an issue with their web page as a potential security problem. I don't know what they are up to, but Norton password manager will not fill-in a password and it automatically post a caution warning flag indicating the page is suspect no matter which page you are on with the following message. •Computer Threats: 1 - •Identity Threats: 0 - •Ecommerce safety threats: 1. They have to know it's popping up for customers and don't care. I would continue to leave them off the list of dealers to compare as their prices are not competitive, but for those not seeing their prices might be tempted to try them on for size. Buy where you want, but beware of the price you'll have to pay for their services. I will include their current prices, but not their actual direct product links. If anyone wants to try them on for size, read the above and do it on your own, milesfranklin.com. If they fix whatever they are doing that is causing these warning notices from Norton, I'll add their direct links.
Who can you really trust anymore other than a walk in and carry out transaction from a long time established dealer who you believe you can trust to not sell you some fakes. And everyone worries about getting screwed at SLV or the COMEX. Trusting our online dealers has cost stackers between $60 and $70 million so far between the above three dealers when it's all said and done. And for years everyone has been warning me about the hazard of owning a few hundred shares of SLV. Let's see, it's been about 8 years now and my shares haven't evaporated yet. While literally millions of Dollars in stored goods at Bullion Direct and NWTM seemed to have done just what they say will only happen to SLV shares and they might be right one day, maybe...
With NWTM out of the picture for now, will any other dealer step up and take over that low price leaders position or hope with them out of the way they can all share in a much larger piece of the generic pie and at higher premiums.
The following links will take you to the main page for these dealers, there you are likely to find daily specials on different products such as Silver, Gold, Platinum, Palladium and Copper as well as foreign coins. Below that you will find the direct link for their web page to the individual product at the monster box level, which may include pricing for all price breaks at some dealers.
