I just talked my in-laws into buying gold, before moving to another country.
I suggested gold and not silver for sheer portability.
They know very little about all the ins and outs of PMs.
But insisted they lockdown some pm’s “before it gets bad.”
They wanted to buy 6 oz. of gold. So, I called around to arrange the purchase with some local dealers.
I asked them all "what can you guys do, to get me to bring my inlaws to your shop instead of to another shop."
One of them offered to give me 1 silver eagle for every Gold eagle they bought, if I would bring them to his shop and not to one of his competitors. “A bird dog fee.”
His rate for Gold eagles was $70 above spot… not too shabby…
When we got there, my in-laws told me they changed their minds…
Not wishing to pressure them into buying something they did not want,
I shrugged and I said “Ok, we can always just go to lunch.”
They said “Nooo, we don’t want to buy 6 gold eagles…but rather 20 gold eagles.”
And so they did!
That’s how I received 20 absolutly FREE silver eagles last week… Wooohooo!
I felt like an ancient Hebrew the week before the first passover!
"Here, I have too much gold, want some silver too?"
This week end,
We went out fishing!
While in the boat, we got stuck in some terrible swells!
SUDDENLY, All his gold and all my free silver fell overboard into the lake…
Gone… All of it…. Gone…
The moral of this story:
It pays to ask!
but not to fish!
If you don't ask...You don't get...
