a roll of nickels for 16.91 is that a good deal , that 20 nickels with the weight of 1.125oz there of silver let me know if that a good deal thanks

A roll of nickels normally has 40. But anyway, go to this site and scroll down to the intrinsic value table to answer your question: http://coininfo.com/

personally, I would prefer some 90% or a silver eagle over the nickels.

Agree with the above post. Avoid war nickles unless you can get them VERY cheap. Refineries will not buy them if they can get 90%, 80% (Canadian), or 40% halves...and they will only purchase the nickels at a big discount because they have a more complex alloy and subsequently cost more to refine.

IMO it's best by far to stick to 90% if your in the U.S.
