Not too many people out... not nearly the big rush the media reported there was going to be...

I don't even own a car. I haven't had to drive to work in 12 years! Here in the Bay Area the traffic was so light Monday evening during what would have been the rush to get back home to get ready for the rest of the work week it was really surprising!! Our TV news always show pictures. That night they showed every major freeway they'd show during rush hour, EVERY ONE had lots of space in the road! No backups at all! There's a stretch of highway 80 going into Berkeley that's always packed even during noon time. IT was VERY light!
I live in a place where I can see commuter traffic, while riding BART to and from work. The car traffic was super light. And the train/bus/ferry traffic was really heavy! I went to Angel Island on Monday. It's a state park in the San Francisco Bay, that can only be reached by ferry or private boat. The 3 decker ferry to and from the park was standing room only!
Tuesday was the Chevron Shareholder meeting, and the CEO was complaining that Chevron wants to expand its' production in Richmond, CA. And no one's encouraging them to do so. Chevron also doesn't want to pay for the price of crude. All it does is process the crude to gasoline and diesel. There's so many environmental things that company has to do seeing as its' refinery is located on a peninsula in a residential area! Chevron doesn't want to make changes to accomodate the residents. Naturally the residents of Richmond are poor. His complaint was a joke. I'm seeing CEOs of oil companies being defiant with their shareholders, defiant with the public. Since they made their stupid profits that aren't real, (oil companies have billions in long term debt, and litigation fees). There's 3 human rights suits/issues pending against Chevron in the courts up here. There's got to be a way the individual investor can divest from any mutual fund mix that carries oil.

There are funds that don't invest in oil or other issues.
