I haven't invested in PM miners or juniors. I don't think that any corporation's books are clean. Not today.

Preferred shares are one thing, and common shares another.

How do you mining corp investors think? How do common shareholders value their investment? Risk?

Thanks in advance!

Of course there is risk in owning any stock; especially in today's climate. However I think its the next best thing to owning the physical metal.

Personally, I stick to the large companies with established mines in stable countries.

Finally I would only buy preferred shares if they are convertible to common shares; otherwise its more like a bond. I think Neumont has some but they are difficult to get.

You could also consider warrants in mining companies. I personally only own some Pan American Silver ones which I got as part of a buyout of a junior I owned, but I have read good thinks about them. Just make sure that they are tradable on the open market. Mine are not.

I consider the Junior PM sector shear speculation.
I hold physical PMs.
CEF shares are as close as I come to an ETF in the field.
