That 200 point Dow Jones Industrials average pop was a very nice psychological operation.
It came complete with anonymous voices on the (CBS) radio news programming telling us that the recovery is here!

I say Dow value will be cut in half between now and the end of May 2010 in real terms.

Since the Dow is denominated in Federal Reserve units the numeric value of the average should increase,
even as the value is cut.

For example if the value of the dollar becomes ¼ (20) of what it currently is (80.19 on the USDIndex),
a logical outcome of the Federal's quantitative easing,
then the Dow average could go to 17,000
but the value calculated in today's money would be 4,250.

The pathetic thing is that people actually believe the programming about a recovery.

Buy as much silver as you possibly can.

Especially fractional increments.
Your friends and associates will thank you as you become a mini dealer at sweet friend special prices compared to the other then available sources.
A bag of Mercury dimes with clear dates might be really handy.

I would be real happy if quarters do prove to be too large to be practical. ;)

Good commentary. I like the idea of fractional silver also in one's silver stacks.
This could be invaluable and the Treasury won't be making any more real soon.;)

I agree. Silver dimes may well prove to be quite valuable in the future. That's why I have a nice stack of them. Serves both the store of silver wealth function and would also be a primary unit of exchange for many items, should that become necessary. Think about a SHTF scenario and silver at just $100. A single silver dime would be worth $7.15. A quarter would be $17.88 and a half $35.75. Granted, everything would cost more but I'm not talking about a total Mad Max scenario, just real hard times. Hard to make change if you have no dimes. 8-)

I recently bought a bunch of half ounce rounds from Apmex. The premium was a load of crap, but the rounds are cool. Unless they lose some of teh premium, I won't be buying any more half ouncers any time soon.

The dimes you speak of have recently come down significantly in price after a long period when they could not be found.

I got a good size pile of them also a while back. Price was a bit steep but they are very nice looking rounds and if you look on ebay the fractionals hold thier premimum pretty well on resale.:D

I expect to see gram silver bars again.
About the time I hope to hear and see silver ads in the media.
