A concise and easily read article describing the history of paper money in late 18th century France, its (inevitable) failure and the resulting impoverishment of the population.
Why do we think anything will be different this time?

It will be different this time because uncle Ben believes the vast powers of the FED can manipulate the 'money supply' to turn the spigot off and on at will. With a myriad of agencies and committees and balance sheets and auctions and branches and rates it can obfuscate the truth so effectively the masses proceed in a daze of false security and consumerism. It would be fitting to paint the blade of the guillotine camouflage!

Uncle Ben believes the dollar to be indestructible because of our current hegemony, but that will be coming to an end. We are already witnessing the drastic slowdown in agency purchases by foreign interests and the switch to short maturity treasuries by the Chinese.
Wait for it.......it's coming.
