I have been thinking about that. I was thinking that the government doesnt care what the dollar is worth because they can provide everything for us so what does it mater. Food, clothing, healthcare, housing, schools, and energy have basically been taken over by the government so who cares how much the dollar is worth? they will simply distribute it at their discrestion and we will be one big happy collective family whooot!

A dollar has zero intrinsic value. It's "value" is derived from the confidence in the rest of the world that accepts these "notes" as a promise that they can be redeemed later for goods and services. They are nothing more than I.O.U's, a promise for some amount of work at a later time. Federal Reserve Notes are actually an encumbrance on your productivity.
Silver however, has no encumbrance and is only promised if you do so yourself.

Perhaps less,
You know,
"I'll take those FRNs off your hands, but it's gonna cost you 2 ounces of silver."
Hey, it's expensive to have the trash taken away!

No I was thinking how low, in how little purchasing power, so that you would need a trillion dollars to buy a Big Mac to go with the fries! All this spending of big money by the government is just preparing us for the denominations we will soon be using in our daily lives.

What i see on the USDX. Dollar was trading around 86.75 on the 18th. FED announced their buy of 1.2 trillion in paper stuff. Dollar dropped to about 85 right off. On the 19th the dollar traded lower, to around 83.25, and since then has traded upward a little to about 84.40 as of saturday evening.
What it will do from here is the question. Foreign currencies being debased drives the dollar higher. Further debasing the dollar will drive it lower.
China has been making a lot of unhappy sounds. So have other nations. If they dump treasuries the dollar will die quickly.

Other than the race to debase. What about the need for dollars to settle these derivative monsters?
