I just got my tax refund and cashed it in for gold and Aussie dollars (given I bought silver 2 days ago and need to repatriate some funds).
Gainesville Coins (where I normally get gold) is out of Gold Eagles (they've never been out that I've observed). Apmex is out of stock on hand with their next order arriving next week for AGE's. Tulving is also waiting on a shipment next week - and has now upped their minimums to 20oz of gold (from 10oz). This seems like a tightening of supply (at least so far as AGE's and ASE's are concerned).
Oh, APMEX has jacked their AGE premium to $90 per coin if you buy less than 20oz, with postage on top of that - I just averaged my AGE's to almost $1090 each with postage bundled in - that's the most I've ever paid (I do CC not wire transfers or checks).
I know we should "buy the dips" (and I did on Wed before my new FRN's just arrived), but right now I'm afraid more of a price rise, than a price decrease in the coming weeks. That's saying something.
