Hey Q....no, I don't know how it's done and I wouldn't try it. I am a doctor who specializes in alternative medicine and recommends a silver solution for my patients. I also take it.

I'm not interested in trying to make my own as that is not my area of expertise and it is fraught with potential problems, the least of which are the blue tint.

My biggest concern is that it won't work as well as what is being created by companies that specialize in making it. I use a 10 ppm product for everyday use and a 30 ppm product for difficult chronic cases.

You can always Google "making colloidal silver" if you want to get involved. I will...someday when I believe we are close to the SHTF...purchase a number of cases to store for my own use for protection.

Additionally, there are differences in ionic, colloidal and solution silver. Too much detail required here to explain them, but I use a silver solution...particular particle size and distance of separation...created through what's called an Aquasol technology. (A technology, not a product endorsement).

While ionic and colloidal silver has one electron missing...and can be effective against organisms, Aquasol technology creates a product with two electrons missing which means as it destroys, it also picks up a free electron and recharges itself to destroy again.

I have found it to be effective against yeast infections, MRSA and various common bowel bacterial infections. I am testing it on a patient with Lyme's and Epstein Bar at the moment.

Part of me want to simply put a .999 on an infected area of skin to se what happens. I haven't had an infection to try that yet as I can't exactly ask a patient to do that.

Good luck in your quest to figure this out, I think it's too much work, but as we prepare for the unexpected, perhaps we all will need to be able to create our own. For the moment, I'll rely on having a huge supply when the SHTF.

Howdy: This simply my take on it. Ionized particles are so small they stay in our system, like lead does, thats why people turn blue. Nano Particles are larger and can float through your system like a White Corpusel would, killing bacteria, and eventually be flushed out by our liver. Several months ago this happened to me. I had a prostate byopsy, and after a couple of days I got an inerenal infection. I live back in the woods of Alaska, and going into town on a Saturday night to get medical treatment would be difficult, and expensive. A internal infection is nothing to put off till tommorw either. My thrermometer was going up about 1 degree per hour. I Grabbed my bottel of Colliods for Life, nano particle silver, gulped down about half a shot glass full and waited and hour. I don't know if silver heals swelling. It's not like it's caused by bacteria or something like that.

I buy this stuff by the gallon. I've posted a few times the amazing results I've had with it for me and my family, including my elderly mother. Search this site and try it. But you might should not waste any time....2 large pharmaceutical companys are financing the lobbyists of the EPA to classify nanosilver as an insecticide....here's something simple and relatively inexpensive that is amazing IMO, and probably will even kill bird flu, and big money may kill it for their greed....

Howdy Hi: Really enjoy your posts. The swelling was caused because my shin was infected, I believe that silver kills bacterial infection, I also had a bad case of bacterial phnemonia, that penicilline wouldn't touch, the Colloids for Life nano silver was the only thing that knocked it out.
