This is getting ugly & Texas is ready to do something about it. With or without the Federal Govt's help.

Ditto on that, no worries Silversign, the mess on the border is getting worse day by day. We could post a story every two days and not keep up with the action fully.

Come on mick, you post 68,742% more than any others on this board, go ahead and check my math, cut a man some slack already.

My stupid sister is in Baja with her head in the sand, I'm starting to get worried.

Professiomal life (and before) habit: I read carefully.

Translated "mess on the boarder" as meaning the mess on this forum BOARD, but then mention of sister in another region, realized BORDER. Guess it is one that makes sense on two levels: mess on border/boarders.

Cut everyone some slack.

Good idea. This snipe-shooting at each other is getting tedious. Ya guys cat-fight over silly sh$$ like your very testosterone was at stake - and ya think WOMEN ARE BAD?

I hope you dudes of generally like mind (or you wouldn't hang around on SSF) cut each other a lot of slack WTSHTF. You're gonna need each other at your backs, not off having Mexican Standoffs and p'ssing contests with each other.

The mass of verbiage of all the posts - it stands to reason topics pop up regularly. Not something, IMO, worth tossing typed turds over, guys....

Longhaul, I remember you first (in my readings) mentioning sister in Baja with head in the sand. Glad you care, even if you're kinda helpless. Simply caring enough to mention it to guys signifies to me you're a brother-worth-having.

Skin is getting a little thin out there.
Opinions are nice.
Knowledge is great.
Rudeness? I know most of the insults wouldn't be tossed so lightly if they were face to face.
Cyberspace,,,The New Frontier!

Keep posting Mick.....also good link to the story on the coming Mexican war....it will effect the economy. Probably will effect oil (at least that's what they'll say)....oil = silver swings

One of these days it's going to be Mick's post that gives you an extra two hours to prepare for doom.

I am very new here, and have enjoyed most everything Mick has posted. I also did not do the correct thing and search for a similarly linked post before I posted the above link.

With that said, one poster trying to call another poster out for mistakes is silly and I did not appreciate it. Therefore, I had to call attention to his mistakes and let him know that we can all be wrong sometimes.

Now, I lay down the argument and apologize for my part in it. I will continue on and look forward to the next several enlightening posts by all that contribute here.

"No hard feelings Mick."

OK folks, sorry for taking an uncalled for stab at you mick for your posting, I just didn't want a newer member to feel discouraged for posting up a bigtime topic right now. I went about it the wrong way, my bad.

Skijake, cugir, I mean no offense, mick's links' do turn up some good info and I do understand the value.

None taken Longhaul. I really appreciate all the things I have read and learned here. I love the idea of civility and even chivalry. I have a sense alot of us are pretty independent and sometimes those Grizzlies do snarl. LOL

Cook that I am...I've NEVER sent ANYone "to bed with no supper" - nor, have I ever washed a kids' mouth out with soap. I remembered too well myself how it was vile and if you swallowed it you...paid for it. They put soap water in enema bottles in the old days, after all, and cooks in the army wanting to get even with the brass simply stirred in a little dish detergent. Not enough to bubble or taste - but enough to scour out an officer's innards in quick fashion in the latrine, heh, heh, heh.

My Dad mentioned the Cook had quite a bit of power in the Army.
Sort of taboo to mess with an enlistee's food [other ways to take care of them] but an out of line Officer seems to have been fair game. ;)
We'll try to toe the line Mom! {Good Mom by the way}

The Minuteman Civil Defense Corp monitors the border for drug runners as well as illegal aliens and alerts the border patrol to any suspicious activity. These people are all trained and armed. They are often called vigilantes by the MSM but rest assured they take an oath not to shoot anyone who does not shoot at them first. These situations are always difficult to deal with because people cannot just go out shooting at Mexicans and the bad guys can behave normally right up to the last minute. Obviously the police are constrained by the same restrictions as the civilian corps. IMHO anyone living in the area should be vigilant and prepared to defend themselves with a firearm as the police cannot be everywhere.

Your preachin' to the choir on the call for legalization. I have been saying this for years. Not only would you take the criminal element out of drug dealing which would cost the tax payers less in police, medical and leagl fees but you would also have quite a few less people in our jails. Add to this that you could tax the stuff an use some of the money to fund NIH research into new drugs to treat addiction which would mostly likely also lead to new drugs to help people quick smoking and drinking.

Can you name any countries that don't have a drug problem? There are some. After you find out which, investigate why.....

You're right, Katwomen but when you look at the big picture they WANT more people in prison. The prisons have been privatized. Want an investment better than silver. Buy stock in the Geo Group. The Bush family did.

Drugs, just like illegal aliens and terrorists are all here for a reason IMHO.

I am currently working in Houston at the Johnson Space center [out on loan] and I can attest to the increasing tensions between the Latin community and anglo's. At this point, it is a matter of casual rudeness and nasty remarks, but I guarantee it would take little more than some miscreant getting shot to push the violence button. The border problems have become a powder keg issue in Texas, and it does not look likely to abate anytime soon.

Personally, I cannot wait to get the hell out of here.

There are many areas within our borders that could also ignite such as, Oklahoma, Florida, Arizona and So-Cal. If the border violence spills over, or the Mexican economy tanks out, watch out!

Every firearm I own has gone up in value since I bought it. So if you do not own a firearm buy one. If you do own one buy more ammo. If you have a gun and all the ammo you think you need for it buy another gun and some more ammo that.

When it comes to investments next to silver steel, lead, and brass in the form of firearms and bullets are my favorite precious metals!

Good points. All those jobs that only a Mexican would do a couple years back are looking pretty good to the locals now. Too often when I mentioned this in the past to the locals they always had an excuse that the Illegals were adding to the economy in so many ways. The conversations have taken on a different tone of late. Live and Learn:rolleyes:
