It's beginning to hit here are there now, kind of a low level but gradually getting more intense. I think we are looking at July-September this year to see it take hold and be noticed by the masses. As for me, my silver purchases are on hold in favor of food and water. Buying more later today. Gotta be ready!

It will probably not come as a single black swan event, rather a series of events that individually cause permanent damage to a given system. GM falling down alone is not enough, but GM, Citi, BAC, AIG etc. would wipe out the economy. I am certain that we will not allow them all to fail at once. It feels like the Government is aware of the danger of allowing AIG and CITI to fail. Remember, these companies hold huge blocks of stocks and bonds. That's how AIG is able to insure more and more. They invest your premiums and calculate a return. The trouble is, AIG decided to guarantee credit default swaps and purchase bonds. Same with Citi. They own CDO's, SIV's and any number of swaps on the debt [bonds] they have purchases.

If these guys fail, the American People are on the hook. That said, the collapse is underway, and most likely will absorb the remaining value of all the remaining dollars, euros, yen and Swiss francs out there, at which point, the threshold is crossed into the new paradigm.

There are many nay sayers who would challenge this position. So be it. I have prepared for this and will survive without as much pain as those who did not. It will be painful to watch folks starve and freeze, and even tougher to hide behind the walls of our house with plenty as those around me who did not listen are hungry.

Cest la vie.

Gold and silver must return as money if the system is to be rebuilt. I say rebuilt because the present system is broken beyond repair.

It you're right and it's September, hopefully a lovely Indian Sujmmer autumn to prepare...And if earlier a summer of hard work and hot weather to "git-R-done" in my opinion.

Hot? My advice is plant peas, spinach, chard, lettuce -- cold tolerant produce is what you want. Tomatoes? I hope it is hot enough for tomatoes.

I heard that July 2009 is also the time when a lot of commercial mortgages will reset. I was in Florida last week to an area I was also in 1 year ago. A year ago, I noticed the large number of empty condos. Then forlcosures blossomed nationwide. This year, empty commerical businesses. That is not a good omen.

Date when SHTF: TOMORROW!!!

The way I see it is that if S doesn't HTF tomorrow then I'll just need to be ready for it the next day. Thats all anyone can do, predicting when SHTF is highly improbable. But if I had to guess it would probably be before I take my next trip to Finland to see my best lady-friend and will cause me to not be able to go... MOFRUCKERS!!! :mad:
