It looks to me like now is a good time to get involved in stocks. Silver has hit a triple bottom with an extreme spike low and very fast snap-back. Spec-longs have been well and truely toasted. Physical premiums are up to 60% over spot, showing that the COMEX market is in serious, serious trouble. A default looks more and more probable.

Pan American, Silver Wheaton and Hecla all look mighty tasty at these levels. $15, $6 and $4 respectively. Silver Wheaton in particular as it has loads of cash, no operating risk and very high margins. Doug Casey had a buy recommendation at $17, calling it a low risk silver play - Doug I don't think there is such a thing! Yamana at $7 also looks like an awesme buy.

A lot of juniors like Endeavour Silver, Endeavour Financial, First Majestic, SilverCrest and Mines Management look pretty good too. Yes I do read The Morgan Report in case you're wondering. I mean SilverCrest's IRR is over 90% even at these prices - it just looks like cash in the bank to me.

I mean these stocks are just so cheap I feel it's time to buy some more despite the serious ass-whooping I've taken recently. Three to five years out I feel I'll be looking at at least 200% returns.

What do you guys think?

I'M IN!! :D

I just got my lump sum payoff for my retirement on September 1st and added $25k into my brokerage account. I bought some of the following:

Silver Wheaton
Hecla
Alexco

I caught SLW on the way down near $7 but otherwise got HL at $3.50 and AXU at $1.40. I also added to a couple of speculative holdings (Full Metal and Bravo Venture Group) and put some dollars into an energy stock but had NO PROBLEM spending that $25k in a day or two. And I thought my wife was...bad. HA! :)

I just want to say anyone holding paper Gold or Silver is crazy, you need to have your Gold and Silver physically in your hands.

Yes, physical is the key thing, but some good mining stock when this thing turns around will likely produce some extra capital to buy that physical with as it climbs. Some good mining stocks now are a tenth of their peak value in the last year... With many mines being forced to shut over these prices, the key ones that remain will likely skyrocket. At these prices now, 1000% return or more is very possible in just a short time frame.

Speaking of good mining stocks, I thought NovaGold was one of them. Talk about a beating. Are they Kaput? Or do you throw some fun money at them now?

Yamana are much better value IMHO. In fact there are lots of better value stocks out there. Novagold are still good it's just that there's so many mouth-watering options out there. What do you think about the immediate rise in prices for silver stocks in general. I assume you recommend them for an investment. The way things are now, I am investing 100% in silver stocks.

I'm definately not 100% in the stocks but I did recently sell around 20-25% of my physical silver holding to buy some Yamana some Denison Mines (they are a marginally profitable uranium producer with great growth prospects trading at 90cents compared to $17.50 back in 2007. They have uranium and they have Lucas Lundin factor. I think Uranium, like gold and silver, is a no-brainer.) and some Endeavour Silver Corp.

There are some great explorers, like Bravo Venture Group, out there too with some amaxing drill hole results but I'm too much of a pussy to buy them right now. That probably means I should buy them as I'm not that risk averse and I'm still too scared to jump in... Maybe next month when my tax rebate comes through. I dunno.
