Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:

GATA has received an encouraging dispatch
from our dear and heroic friend Hugo Salinas
Price, president of the Mexican Civic
Association for Silver and leader of the
silver cause in Mexico. Or maybe it would be
better to describe him as leader of the
Mexican independence movement. His dispatch
is appended.

CHRIS POWELL, Secretary/Treasurer
Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee Inc.

Congratulations to GATA.

Your Business Wire communiqué of August 19, 2005, wherein GATA
expressed support for the plan to monetize the silver "Libertad"
ounce in Mexico --

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gata/message/3274

-- has been translated into Spanish and is now incorporated in a
book published by the Mexican Congress with the title (translated,
of course): "Silver Coin for Mexico -- the Technique for its
Introduction into Monetary Circulation in Latin America."

The book is signed by three member of Mexico's Congress, one each
from the three principal parties.

This book is a milestone in the struggle for silver money in Mexico.
It faithfully reflects all we have been arguing for over the last
several years.

All members of Mexico's Congress will be receiving copies of this
book this week and it will be forwarded to our legislative contacts
in South America immediately.

My sincere thanks to GATA for your valuable support to our plan for
silver in Mexico. I am sending two copies to you.

The silver issue is hot here in Mexico and the theme is being heard
around the country.

There are other very positive developments that I cannot mention
here but I will keep you posted.

With warm regards and sincerely,

HUGO SALINAS PRICE, President
Mexican Civic Association for Silver
Mexico City
