I see similiar Performance on CEF (canadian central fund) as I do on SLV and GLD. The big difference is that CEF holds both Gold & Silver and each share is 1/10 the cost! Any feedback?

Well, if you are Canadian CEF has the advantage of being RRSP eligable.
(SLV isn't or at least my bank says it isn't.) I have about 25% of my
RRSP in CEF.

One downside is that since it lacks a daily arbitrage mechanism to the
metals markets like SLV has CEF can at times develop a significant
premium or discount to it's NAV. (For at least the last 2 years it's
been in varying levels of premium.)

It's a pretty good choice for when you can't physically posses the
metal yourself.

I would agree. Of all the various options to invest in Non_Physical Possession, I feel very comfortable in owning the stock. As a matter of fact, given it's history, I would rather have ownership this way than a Certificate from some of this "other" bullion dealers that claim your PM's are accounted for and segregated.

Let's see....

Howard Ruff ( www.rufftimes.com ), Doug Casey ( www.caseyresearch.com ) and I'm sure there's many others that have a rather high regards for CEF, a Canadian fund who's been around since the early 60's. Both recommend The Central Fund of Canada and have for quite a spell. I remember Howard Ruff saying in past newsletters that it could be "obsolete" due to the silver ETF but I see he too has changed his tune about SLV, stating "they may not have the physical metal like they're supposed to" to back up the paper...same old story it seems to me. Irregardless, CEF is a great choice in which to invest in silver and gold with minimal risk.
