Just curious... do you all have enough food stored up for a year or two or more? I bought some (2.5 tons) before leaving USA. I had no problem at the Canadian border. They did ask me to show up at the customs office and they asked me what is was for. I told them "personal use" and reassured them that it was "not for resale" - STAMP STAMP and I was on my way.

I bought mine here: http://www.yourfoodstorage.com/ I was pleased with their packing. I haven't opened anything yet so I can't comment on the food itself, but the grains are happy in their tubs. Shelf life of 30 years.

Anyone else want to comment? I know this is a sensitive topic because food is more valuable than silver or gold.

Next is on my list is medicine. Anyone know anything about that? Perhaps raiding a vet for essentials might be an option. Shelf life is also a concern.

I don't have a year's worth, but I do have some from www.efoodsdirect.com (http://www.efoodsdirect.com).

An even cheaper source is patriotfood.com (http://www.patriotfood.com).

Miss Roger will wake up one day to not only not having a husband, but to not having any food. That's fine by me if she wants to starve.

I keep a supply of snack crackers, rice, canned foods, bottled beverages, etcetera, to last a few weeks, enough to survive an ice storm. If I thought the economic End Times were coming, I would increase the amount, but I'll leave that until the real warning signs appear (ie, not survivalist chatter that things are going to crash next week but reports of worldwide crop failures).

Storing food is a nice way to save silver and gold.
I got 3 months supply for a family of 7. I don't like the idea to change my silver and gold in a given moment for food.
I'm saving now a lot because inflation is growing and we eat from storage... This summer seem to be bad for gas and food price.

I started building up in 2007 and added more when Northern Wreck, Bradfraud & Bingley, Bear Stearns & Lehman went pop. However over the last 12 months we have eaten our way through quite a lot of it. I intend to begin restocking slowly in the summer.

Here are early warning signs:
